Hallie multi-wear bikini top in Rebirth basalt, an eco-friendly multi-wear bikini made in Rebirth.

The Rebirth fabric is manufactured from recycled plastic bottles, a huge milestone towards our commitment towards sustainability; on top of our current efforts – all our brand tags are made from biodegradable TPU, swimwear bags are biodegradable plastic-free and polymailers are made from corn starch.

We are starting off with just one shade of the Rebirth fabric as this fabric is much more costly than the usual polyester types. They are also only sold in rolls of 100m as compared to the usual types of fabric which we are allowed to purchase in smaller quantities. If the response for the sustainable line is favourable, we would be able to start offering you more colour options <3

We wanted a multi-wear bikini, one that can accompany you through your many adventures to come, one that gives you versatility and style. Hallie is classy with a stylish touch. Why Basalt?

For the debut shade, it will be none other than the classic and timeless shade of black, named after Basalt.

Basalt is a dark-colored igneous rock that makes up most of the ocean floor. It is fine-grained, and on the surface, there are tiny holes – remnants of when gas bubbles escaped the cooling lava and it works like a magic for exfoliation of dead skin.

“I remembered I first saw a basalt rock more than 10 years ago on a tour in Taiwan. The basalt rock can be found in shapes of large stones and works extremely well for exfoliating of the feet’s dead skin. My dad bought one and needless to say, he loved it so much. We tried to find a similar one but to no avail, and he was pretty sad about it. The basalt rock, though ordinary looking, actually made my dad really happy. We hope that you know that while this Rebirth basalt fabric looks ordinary, it actually gave the ocean a new lease of life, by saving it from the plastics that would otherwise pollute the sea.”

Tips to care for your swimwear:

-Firstly, shower in clean water before entering the pool- your swimsuit will absorb less chlorine
-Avoid excessive lotion or oil on swimwear as exposure may cause decolourisation
-Apply sunscreen before putting on swimwear
-Handwash swimwear in cold water and gently squeeze out water to retain shape
-Finally, lay swimwear to dry in shaded or ventilated areas and avoid direct sunlight as heat may damage its colour.
